RAJSHAHI: Chhatra Shibir activists beat up two law enforcers at Shalbagan area in city on Tuesday.
Two critically injured constables Amjad and Shafiqul were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital in this regard.
Quoting witnesses, spokesperson of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Ifte Khair Alam told banglanews that Chhatra Shibir activists brought out a procession at Shanbagan area and set fire on the highway spilling petrol on it.
Shibir activists attacked a police van with bamboo stick and iron rods as soon as it reached at the spot to disperse them, leaving two constables of RMP injured, he added.
The Shibir activists, however, fled the scene as BGB personnel reached the spot.
The injured are out of fear. Police are trying to detain the persons involved with the incident, he added.
