NATORE: Police in a drive detained the district president of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and its two activists from Naldanga’s Bashila village early Wednesday.
The detainees, Natore Islami Chhatra Shibir chief Alamgir Hossain, 35 and two Shibir activists Rabiul Islam, 28 and Shovon Ahammed, 25, were held during holding a ‘clandestine meeting’, police claimed.
Regarding the matter, Naldanga Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aslam Uddin told banglanews that the district Shibir president, among the detainees, has been shown arrested in a case of involving in clashes with police on last year’s January 5 and in another regular case of mugging and vandalism.
The OC further said that the two activists have already been sent to prison after placing them before the district court.
