DHAKA: Two activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, were caught red-handed while they attempted to set fire to vehicles in city’s Mirpur area.
The incident took place at 8:00am on Sunday.
Witnesses Alamgir Hossain and Sohrab Mia said that a group of 10-12 Shibir activists blasted two cocktails at Goalbari intersection and tried to set fire to vehicles.
People of the area then chased the attackers and caught two Shibir activists named Selim and Sabbir. Then they handed over them to the police.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Kafrul Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Qaiyum said that they are interrogating the detainees.
