Rizvi on 3-day fresh remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Monday placed BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed on a three-day remand in an arson a case filed with Jatrabari Thana in the city.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Maruf Hossain passed the order after a hearing as investigation officer (IO) of the case DB Sub-Inspector Bashir Ahmed produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea.

On February 4, Metropolitan Magistrate Emdadul Haque passed five-day remand order in the same case.

On the night of January 30, RAB-1 personnel arrested Rizvi from Baridhara area and handed over to Badda Thana police on January 31.

Later, he was taken to Detective Branch (DB) Headquarters.

Rizvi was placed on a 13-day remand at a stretch in three phases from February 1.
