BCL factional clash leaves 2 injured at DU

DHAKA: Two activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student wing of ruling Awami League, were injured in a factional clash at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall of Dhaka University early Saturday.

The fighting groups also ransacked three rooms during the clash—a latest eruption of internal conflict in the student organization.

Campus sources said the clash ensued at around 1 am when some BCL activists, led by Shahin, attacked Ziaul of another group in a revenge action over past enmity, leaving two injured.

On information, police rushed to the spot and took the situation under control.

Earlier on Friday night, Ziaul beat up Mamun for his “indecent” behaviour.

Proctor KM Saiful Islam Khan and hall provost ABM Faruque assured of “fair investigation” into the incident.
