Delwar gets anticipatory bail

DHAKA: BNP secretary general Khandaker Delwar Hossain has got two months` anticipatory bail from the High Court in a case filed for threatening Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The HC bench of Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain and Justice AKM Sahidul Haque granted the bail on Sunday.

The court also issued a rule asking the government to explain by four weeks as to why he would not be granted a permanent bail.

Among others, Barrister Rafiq-ul-Haq and BNP standing committee member Moudud Ahmed moved for the BNP leader while deputy attorney general Md Selim for government.

Earlier, cases were filed against Delwar at different places across the country as he gave a death threat to PM.
