DHAKA: Opposition BNP Vice-chairman Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Monday alleged the incident of ‘Ibrahim murder’ is being given ‘political shape’ to save ruling Awami League leader Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shaon MP.
“Political criminalization would increase if he got political shelter after the ‘murder’,” said Hafiz, Shaon’s contestant in the by-poll in Bhola-3 constituency.
He came up with the allegation while talking to journalists at his residence at Banani in the city.
He said, “We want that Ibrahim’s family gets justice in the murder.”
Alleging that cases are being lodged against BNP leaders-activists and attacks being launched on them at different places across the country, he said, “Definitely can it be said that the law-and-order situation of the country is very bad.”
Hafiz Uddin Ahmed also alleged that the men who are patronized by MP Shaon in his constituency are “torturing innocent people”.
