PM arrives in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in the district on Wednesday morning on a daylong visit.

A helicopter carrying the premier landed at BF Jahurul Haque naval base at around 11:40am.

The high officials of naval forces received Prime Minister where she joined the commissioning ceremony of Maritime Patrol Aircraft.

Later, she joined another commissioning program of the ships-- ‘BNS Nirmul’ and ‘BNS Durjoy’ made by china and ‘BNS Surma’ made at Khulna shipyard-- at Naval Academy.

The programs was attended, among othersm by State Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, Food Minister Dr Abdur Razzak, Primary and Mass education Minister Dr Afsarul Amin, Member of Parliament Abul Kashem Master, ABM Fazle Karim and others high officials.

Later, the PM awarded ‘National Standard’ to BNS Bangabandhu, the largest fighter ship of the country.

After having lunch at Naval Academy, Prime Minister will fly for Fatikchhari by helicopter.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to address a rally at C&B field of Fatikchhari around 2:40pm.

Earlier, the premier will digitally inaugurate nine development establishments and lay foundation stone of four projects.

The development works include a 85,000-metric tonne capability food godown in port city’s Halishahar area, a 5-storey Dental building at Chittagong Medical College (CMC) Hospital, New Administrative Building of Chittagong College, two 50-seated Upazila health complex at Chandanaish and Satkania upazilas, Trauma center at Lohagara Upazila, Fatikchhari Fire Service Station, Rafiqul Anwar-Morsheda Trust and CDA Square Flat project.
 
The foundation plaques of these projects have already been set up beside the rally stage.
