DHAKA: Eminent lawyer of the country Barrister Rafiq-ul Haque on Wednesday proposed for a ‘combined government’ during the next national elections.

The senior lawyer came up with the proposal while addressing a discussion meeting marking the 6th jail release day of BNP’s senior vice-chairperson Tarique Rahman.

Indicating the ruling party and the opposition party, Barrister Rafiq said: “Opposition is asking for caretaker government and the ruling party is not agreeing with the demand… there can be a ‘combined government’ during the election.”

He also clarified that the government could be formed by members from the ruling party and the opposition.

Addressing the opposition, the senior lawyer said: “There might be no caretaker government but you (BNP) have to take preparations for the next general election.”

He also said, “You (BNP) will win in the next general election.”

Uttaranchol Chhatra Forum organized the conference.

With the advisor of the organization in the chair, the function was also addressed, among other, by Professor AFM Dr Yusuf Haider, Dr KAM Shahadat Hossain Mandal, Kamal Uddin Sabuj and Gazi Majharul Anwar.
