SATKHIRA: At least 10 people were injured in a clash between two groups of BNP over a trifling matter at Shilpakala Academy of the district town on Friday morning.

Sources said district BNP president and general secretary locked into altercation after president Habibul Islam Habib addressing the party council, started at around 11:00am.

At one stage of altercation, supporters of the two leaders locked into clash with lethal weapons and soon spread to the adjacent areas, leaving 10 injured.

Satkhira district BNP general secretary Advocate Syed Iftekhar Ali, district workers’ party president Samad, district Matsyajibi Dal general secretary Amanullah Aman were admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital.
