DHAKA: Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday reiterated the government should reinstate non-partisan caretaker government provision otherwise people would oust them by being united.
The BNP leader came up with the observation while addressing a rally to mark the 6th jail release day of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her son Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman.
The rally was organized by Dhaka City BNP at city’s Suhrawardy Udyan.
He said, “Conspiracy in the politics triggered by killing of Ziaur Rahman and its still vigorous as the conspirators’ of 1/11 are acting same with the power.”
He added: “The incumbent government has initiated new phase of conspiracy by repressing opposition and by assembling party men in non partisan institutions like election commission.”
He also alleged that the government is intensifying corruption throughout the country.
Senior BNP leaders also addressed the rally.
