Cast vote to boat, not candidates

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday urged the party-men to cast vote saying that vote Awami League in the upcoming elections for at boat symbol, not the candidates.

The premier came up with the assertion while addressing a view exchange meeting discussion with grass route level of Awami League leaders and activists at Gano Bhaban on Wednesday evening.

Sheikh Hasina also alleged that opposition BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was involved in BDR mutiny.

She said, “Before the mutiny, Khaleda Zia came out from her house one hour earlier, where did she go and why? She had a link with the mutiny.”

Mentioning the corruption scenario during BNP regime, she added, “If they assume power again, corruption will grasp the country and looting, terrorism, killing will increase again.”

Meanwhile, the Awami League president said if people cast vote for Awami league, the development would continue.

With Sheikh Hasina in the chair, the discussion was attended, among others, by Awami League advisory committee member Suranjit Sen Gupata, presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim, Abdul Latif Siddik, Kazi Jafrullah, Satish Chandra Roy, joint secretary general Mahabub-ul-Alam Hanif.
