DHAKA: The senior leaders of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) are holding a meeting the foreign diplomats in Dhaka to discuss the overall political situation including the KCC polls.
The meeting, headed by BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, started around 4:15pm Sunday (May 13) at BNP chairperson’s political office in city’s Gulshan area.
Diplomats from India, Japan, Kuwait, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Italy, UK, Vatican City, Denmark, Canada, Nepal, Australia, Morocco and the Netherlands are present in the meeting.
Khaleda Zia’s verdict in Zia Orphanage case and BNP’s position about the upcoming Khulna and Gazipur city elections are the main issues to be discussed in the meeting.
BNP vice chairman Shamsher Mabin Chowdhury organized the meeting where acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman, BNP chairperson’s advisor Abdul Awal Mintoo, Riaz Rahman, Sabihuddin Ahmed were among others present.
