Shibir attacks police car in Sylhet

SYLHET: Some activist of Chhatra Shibir, the student wong of Jamaat-e-Islami, attacked and vandalized two police vehicles in Subidbazar Londoni Road and Shibganj areas of the divisional city on Thursday morning, the second day of Jamaat’s  48-hour hartal.

Shibir activists threw brick-chips at a patrol police car around 6:30 am in Subidbazar area and vandalized another car in Shibgonj area at around 7:00am. Police took the situation under their control later on.

Besides, hartal supporters brought out several brisk processions in different places of the city. They fled the scene sensing the presence of police.

However, additional law enforcers were deployed in the city to avoid any further violence.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police Media Officer Md Aiyub, also Deputy Police Commissioner, confirmed the matter to banglanews.
