DHAKA: Jatiya Oikyafront has placed a proposal to the ruling 14-party alliance to form a neutral polls-time government to host the 11th parliamentary polls.
The government can be shaped like a caretaker government and it can include 10 advisers, they said.
They placed the proposal in a written format, during their second session of dialogue with the Awami League led alliance Wednesday (Nov 7).
Awami League, however, rejected the proposal terming it ‘not congruous’ to the constitution.
Constitutional void will be created through this. And third quarter may grab the scope of intrusion, said the ruling party alliance.
The dialogue began around 11:10am at Ganabhaban.
In the talks on Wednesday, the 11-member Oikyafront delegation is led by its leader also Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Mahmudur Rahman Manna Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, ASM Abdur Rab, Mostafa Mahsin Mantu, Subrata Chowdhury, SM Akram, Abdul Makel Ratan and Sultan Mohammad Mansur Ahmed are among them.
Awami League President also Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is leading the 12-member team of the 14-party alliance.
