DHAKA: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said it is a matter of party chief Khaleda Zia’s family members whether they will file a plea for her bail on parole.
He made the comment after placing tributes to BNP founding president Ziaur Rahman’s graveyard in the city’s Chandrima Udyan Monday (April 15) noon.
Leaders of BNP’s newly formed central committee of Olama Dal accompanied Fakhrul.
Fakhrul said a three-member BNP team including him paid a visit to ailing Khaleda Zia at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital on occasion of Pahela Baishakh on Sunday (April 14).
“The party chief directed party leaders and activists to stay united and keep the national unity protected,”
“She conveyed greetings to countrymen marking Bangla New Year,” added Fakhrul.
In replying a question, Fakhrul said he hadn’t any discussion with the imprisoned BNP chief about her parole as it is a concern of her family members, not the party.
