DHAKA: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed concern over a comment made by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her London visit.
"It is not only alarming but also an ominous sign to the country and the people, if the release of Khaleda Zia depends on the prime minister's wish," he said.
"Sheikh Hasina expressed an enraged reaction over the release of Khaleda Zia, in a speech delivered to the party leaders and activists who came to welcome the premier marking her visit," Fakhrul stated in a press release Tuesday (May 7) noon.
"I'm expressing concern at the remark of her (Sheikh Hasina) regarding release of the leader (Khaleda Zia)," he added.
However, in the press release, Mirza Fakhrul also condemned and protested the remark of the premier.
