All issues including Teesta to be resolved: Quader

DHAKA: All the pending issues between Bangladesh and India will be resolved during the new tenure of Modi government as BJP regain in power, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader hopes.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, was addressing a press conference after a meeting of AL presidium members.

AL presidium members had a meeting at AL president’s political office in Dhanmondi on Friday (May 24).

Asked whether the Teesta water issue will be solved in the future, Obaidul Quader said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi secured victory through voting of the people. We hope that all the unresolved issues with us will be resolved.

“All the problems, including border issue, have been resolved with Modi's courageous steps. He is regaining to power with more supremacy. Hopefully those problems including Teesta will be resolved soon”, he added.

In response to another question, Obaidul Quader said, "I have heard the same allegation for long that Khaleda is not being treated properly."

Mentioning that “Khaleda Zia is imprisoned in two corruption cases”, he said that Sheikh Hasina's government is not so inhumane, so cruel that Khaleda Zia would die without treatment.

Awami League Joint General Secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif and Abdur Rahman, organizing secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Liberation War Affairs Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, Science and Technology Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur, Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua and others were present at the press conference.
