MADARIPUR: At least 30 people were injured following clash between two rival groups of ruling Awami League over Sadar Upazila Parishad election in Madaripur. 

The friction took place at Gasbaria area between supporters an AL candidate and an AL rebel candidate on Wednesday (June 12).

Police detained 11 persons from the spot.

Additional police were dispatched to Gasbaria and hospital areas. Now situations have calmed, Lutfur Rahman, sub-inspector of Madaripur Sadar Police Station, told Banglanews.

So far, 28 persons have been given treatment after the clash, Imranur Rahman Sonet, medical officer of Madaripur Sadar Hospital, told Banglanews.
