DHAKA: Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader asked BNP to provide solid evidence of corruption through Electric Voting Machines (EVM) system.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said: “I will tell the BNP leaders---give evidence of vote rigging through EVM system, without just throwing stones in the darkness. BNP-nominated candidate won in two EVM centers in the Sylhet City Corporation elections. So, BNP's complain about EVM is groundless.”
He came up with the remark while talking to reporters after attending a programme at BRAC Centre in Mohakhali area of the capital on Saturday (January 25).
“If vote rigging, tricks, tactics of irregularities would work on EVM, then the presence of the voters in Chattogram would not increase,” Quader said urging BNP to give evidence of vote rigging in specific places at that time.
