DHAKA: NU vice-chancellor Dr Harun-ar-Rashid on Monday said the online registration for participating in the first ever convocation of the National University (NU) is set to begin by the next week.

He also told banglanews that a team has been working on developing software in this regard.

President Abdul Hamid is expected to be present as chief guest in the Convocation-2016, scheduled to be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) on November 30 of 2016.

Dr Harun-ar-Rashid also said they already have launched a test run of registration of names for forming Alumnae association.

Several thousands of students already have registered their names in the test run, he added.

Meanwhile, many students alleged that they could not register their names as Monday (November 30) was the last date.

Besides, the students also alleged that the NU authorities have forgotten to add CS and CSE departments in the database.

Regarding the matter, Dr Harun-ar-Rashid said there was no reason to be worried.

Everyone will be able to register their names after the launching of registration procedure, he added.
