GAZIPUR: Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET) has been closed for indefinite period following the clashes between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) in Gazipur district.

DUET students’ welfare center director Professor Dr Qamruzzaman confirmed banglanews Monday evening (December 7).

He said that the university will remain closed till further notice to avoid any untoward situation.

Male students in the residential halls were asked to leave the campus within 6:00pm on Monday while the female students to leave by 8:00am on Tuesday (December 8).

Earlier this afternoon, two groups of ruling Awami League’s student front BCL locked into clashes centering the establishment of supremacy on the campus leaving some injured.
