DU severs ties with Pakistan

DHAKA: Dhaka University (DU) vice-chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique announced that the university has severed all sorts of relations with Pakistan.

He made the announcement at a press conference on Monday afternoon.

The VC further said the decision had earlier taken in a syndicate meeting of the university as a protest of derogatory remarks about the executions of two top war criminals and the interference of Pakistan in Bangladesh affairs.

‘No delegation of DU students or teachers will go to Pakistan,’ he announced.

‘The relations with Pakistan have been cut today (December 14). We will think about the reestablishment of the relations if the country takes the liabilities of genocide and seeks unconditional forgiveness and arranges trial of their 195 Army men.’
