DHAKA: Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) pro vice-chancellor (designate) Professor Dr. Milan Pagon called upon the newly admitted students to capitalize on `IUB Life’ in order to coming out as best professionals in respective fields along with becoming responsible and quality human beings.

He came up with this assertion at an orientation program for the newly admitted undergraduate students of ‘Autumn 2016 Semester’ in IUB on Saturday (September 3) on Bashundhara campus in city.

Milan Pagon welcomed the new students and their parents and thanked them for choosing IUB towards changing and shaping their future desirably, said a press release.

He also described IUB’s strengths in global partnerships and research opportunities and urged upon all students to set priorities, facing challenges, having persistent attitude and working hard in order to clinch desired success in life.

Registrar of IUB Brig Gen (Retd) M Anwarul Islam discussed about all academic rules and regulations of the university. He also assured extending all required cooperation to the new students and their parents.

School of Business Dean Professor Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, School of Engineering and Computer Science Dean Prof Shahriar Khan, School of Environmental Science and Management Dean Dr Abdul Khaleque, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Dean Dr Mahbub Alam and School of Life Sciences Dean Prof Rita Yusuf also spoke in the program.

The program was conducted by Lima Choudhury, Deputy Director, Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid Office of IUB.

Later, the newly admitted students visited and were oriented by different Schools, Departments, Library, etc.

Apart from the students, parents, guardians, members of the faculty and management of IUB were present during the daylong orientation program.
