SAU VC visits Kagawa varsity in Japan

DHAKA: The newly appointed vice-chancellor of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) Professor Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahamed on an invitation went to visit the Kagawa University in Japan on September 20.

There he held a meeting with the dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of Kagawa University Professor Dr. Ikuo Kataoka on September 21 with the view to update the MoU that the two varsities signed.

During the meeting, SAU Associate Professor Dr. Mirza Hasanuzzaman was given the responsibility for over all future communications between the two universities.

Professor Masayuki Fujita and SAU teachers and students went for higher studies in the Japanese university were present here.

Later, Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahamed joined convocation of PhD students after visiting the laboratories of Kagawa University on the day.

He also shared views with the SAU teachers and students who went for higher studies in Kagawa University.

On September 22, the students of Kagawa University organized a special reception for SAU VC where Bangladeshi-Japanese Assistant Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal was, among others, present here.

Dr. Mirza Hasanuzzaman was also given a special honor for his acquiring PhD from Kagawa University.

In his speech, SAU VC Professor Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahamed thanked all and asked to pay more attention to research. He also hoped Bangladeshi students would acquire higher degrees as well as moral and ethical lessons from Japan.

He is expected to return home on September 27.
