DHAKA: Five more people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of coronavirus cases in Bangladesh to 61.

No new death from Covid-19 was confirmed across the country in the last 24 hours keeping the total death toll at six.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque disclosed the information in an online press briefing on Friday (April 3) noon.

Bangladesh so far confirmed six deaths from coronavirus disease while 26 patients recovered so far and 29 patients are now undergoing treatment. 

Besides, the death toll from the coronavirus or COVID-19 has crossed 54,000 globally as of Friday evening here.

Coronavirus has so far infected about 10 lakh people around the world, according to worldometer.
