DHAKA: Rapid Action Battalion has seized a huge quantity of illegally imported medicines (oral and injectable forms) from a branch store of Lazz Pharma Limited in Dhaka.
A mobile court of RAB-3, led by Executive Magistrate Polash Kumar Basu, seized the drugs in a drive conducted at the Kakrail branch of the pharmacy around 3:30pm on Monday (July 13).
The RAB magistrate told Banglanews: “Lazz Pharma obtained these contraband medicines though various luggage parties. We have found a large stock of such medicines in the store that the company could not produce any tax documents for.”
The luggage party goods are products brought in by international travellers and airline crew in quantities within the duty-free limit, or sometimes beyond those amounts but without any duty.
