DHAKA: Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) has approved a Covid-19 vaccine, developed by a Chinese company, for the Phase-3 trial in Bangladesh.

BMRC Director Dr Mahmud-uz-Zaman said it to Banglanews on Sunday noon (July 19).

He said: “A national committee has approved, in policy, the trail after Beijing asked for permission. International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (ICDDRB) will conduct the entire trial operation in alliance with the Chinese farm.”

China-based pharmaceutical company Sinopharm has already initiated a Phase 3 clinical trial in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

This trial is being conducted by Sinopharm’s China National Biotec Group (CNBG) in alliance with the Abu Dhabi Government and Abu Dhabi-based artificial intelligence company G42 Healthcare.
