On Monday, India saw a single-day rise of 66,732 infections which pushed India's caseload to 71.2 lakh. 

Over 55,300 new cases of Covid-19 cases and 706 deaths in 24 hours have taken India's overall tally to 71.7 lakh.

In India, active Covid-19 cases stand at 8.61 lakh while 61.49 people have recovered from the disease so far. 

Total number of samples tested up to October 12 is 8,89,45,107 including 10,73,014 samples tested on Monday, said Indian Council of Medical Research.
