Bangladesh today confirmed 36 deaths from the coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 7,192. 

According to the Health authorities, 1,134 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 496,975.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.

As 2,239 patients have recovered in last 24 hours, the number of total recoveries reached 431,590, it also said.

A total of 3,035,728 samples have been tested so far with 13,191 samples tested in 140 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country in last 24 hours, the release added. 

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 while first death on March 18.
