Bangladesh on Wednesday saw the lowest number of deaths from coronavirus infection in the last eight months as only eight people died in the last 24 hours. The death toll reached 7,950.

According to the Health authorities, 656 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 529,687.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.

As 617 patients have recovered in last 24 hours, the number of total recoveries reached 474,472, it also said.

A total of 3,500,667 samples have been tested so far with 15,410 samples tested in 199 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country in last 24 hours, the release added. 

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 while first death on March 18 in last year.
