Bangladesh on Friday confirmed 15 deaths from coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 7,981.

According to the Health authorities, 619 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 530,890.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the update of the country’s coronavirus situation issuing a press release this afternoon.

As 487 patients have recovered in last 24 hours, the number of total recoveries reached 475,561, it also said.

A total of 3,530,274 samples have been tested so far with 14,846 samples tested in 200 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country in last 24 hours, the release added. 

Bangladesh reported its first Coronavirus case on March 8 while first death on March 18 in last year.
