DHAKA: A delegation comprising experts and officials from Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission and Ministry of Science and Technology will leave Dhaka for Belarus on Monday to visit an under construction Nuclear Power Plant.
During the visit the members of the delegation will get acquainted with construction and installation works, performed during the preparatory phase in setting up of a NPP, says Rosatom in press release.
Representatives of the United Company of "NIAEP" and ASE will accompany the Bangladesh officials and experts.
Aside from gaining knowledge on how everything works at the site of a nuclear reactor, the Bangladesh delegation will negotiate the third contract with their Russian counterpart on construction and installation works to be performed during the preparatory phase of Rooppur NPP.
Rosatom, the Russian State-owned nuclear company, has been constructing nuclear power plants in various countries worldwide including Bangladesh and Belorussia.
The Rooppur NPP in Bangladesh will have two units each of 1000MW capacity and the first unit is expected to be commissioned at the beginning of next decade.
