GAZIPUR: At least eight readymade garment workers were injured in a clash with police in Konabari and Kashimpur area of the district on Sunday morning to press their demand of minimum Tk 8,000 salary.

Witnesses said that coming-out of the factory; the workers of MM Sweater factory staged protest in Konabari Industrial area on Dhaka-Tangail highway at around 8:30am.

On information, police rushed to the spot and tried to disperse the agitating workers that triggered sporadic clashes.

On the other hand, workers locked into clash with people of factory owners in Kashimpur area, leaving seven to eight workers injured.

Chakrabarti police outpost Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
