DHAKA: A police man was killed and another one injured critically in a road accident on Dhaka-Dohar road of Gorabon Balur Math area under Dohar upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Constable Manjurul Haque, 40, hailed from Lebubari village of Manikganj Sadar and was on duty at Fultola Police Outpost in Dohar upazila.

Witnesses said while going towards Fultola, a rashly driven truck from the opposite direction crushed into their motorbike, leaving Manjurul and SI Jahirul, 38, injured critically.

Local people rushed them to Abdur Razzak Hospital where the duty doctor declared Manjurul dead.

SI Jahirul was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.

Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge of Dohar Thana Kamrul Islam told banglanews that police arrested the driver and the helper of the truck.
