KHULNA: A police constable was shot to death by himself as a bullet come out from his own rifle at Koira Thana of the district on Monday noon.

The deceased was identified as Constable Juel Rana, 26.

District police super Golam Rouf said Rana was staying at barrack after duty. At one stage, his colleagues heard sound of opening of fire and he was found dead.

It was not clear that he might have committed suicide or accident, he added.

Officer-in-Charge of Koira Thana Fazlur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
