BOGRA: Bangladesh Sarak Paribahan Sramik Federation called a day long countrywide transport strike for Thursday demanding the release of its joint secretary Advocate Shimul Biswas, also special assistant to the opposition BNP Chairperson Khalda Zia.

Confirming the matter, president of Bogra Motor Sramik Union Abdul Latif Mandal told banglanews on Tuesday morning that they will observe transport strike from 6:00am to 6:00pm to press home their demand.

But the strike would be called off if the government releases him before the deadline, he added.
