DHAKA: A five-member delegation of Election Commission (EC) reached at Bangabhaban to meet President M Abdul Hamid on Tuesday afternoon for discussing the upcoming 10th parliamentary elections.

The delegation led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakib Uddin Ahmed reached at the residence of the President at around 3:30pm.

The other members of the delegation are Election Commissioners Abdul Mobarak, Abu Hafiz and Mohammad Shahnewaz, and Election Commission Secretary Dr M Sadik.

Sources said the election commission would seek to deploy army in the next polls and they would also request the President to ensure the participation of all the political parties in the election.
