FROM JATIYA SANGAD: The parliament on Tuesday passed the Legal Aid (Amendment) Bill-2013 with a view to making the government`s legal aid providing activities more dynamic and service-oriented.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed moved the bill in the House with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
As per the bill, various committees, including the Supreme Court committee and district committee, will be constituted with the participation of people’s representatives to make the legal aid providing activities more effective.
Apart from this, Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies Bill- 2013 was placed before the parliament.
