DHAKA: A hearing over prevailing political crisis of Bangladesh is going to be held in US Sub-committee for Asia and Pacific Regional Foreign Affairs.

The subject was fixed as ‘Bangladesh in Turmoil: A Nation on the Brink?”

The US Congress Foreign Affairs House Committee, in its website, said that the hearing would be at 2:00pm (Bangladesh time 12:00am) on Wednesday.

Public policy scholar of Woodrow Wilson International Center Ali Riaz, Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Securities Studies president Major General (retd) AMN Muniruzzaman and Human Rights Watch of Asia Region Advocacy Director John Stephen will join the hearing.

Meanwhile, Congressman Steve Chabot will preside over the hearing.

The prevailing political crisis, violation of human rights and reason of the incidents and its affect on regional security will be discussed there.
