8-kg gold seized at Ctg airport

CHITTAGONG: Customs officials of Shah Amanat International Airport held a person with eight and half kilogram smuggled gold from an aircraft of Bangladesh Biman on Wednesday morning.

Chittagong Customs Assistant Commissioner Moshiur Rahman Mondal told banglanews: “During regular checking to the passengers, customs officials found the 75 gold bars in a bag of Jamal Uddin coming from Dubai.”

Assistant Director of detective and investigation units of Chittagong Customs Nahid Naoshad Mukul told banglanews: “The gold worth about Tk 3.75 crore.”

On Monday, 15-kg gold was seized from the same flight, he added.
