New cabinet gazette published

DHAKA: A gazette notification has been published mentioning the portfolio of the 21 ministers and seven state ministers for the all-party interim government to oversee next parliament elections.

The cabinet division of the secretariat issued the gazette on Thursday afternoon.

According to the notification, Cabinet Division, Public Administration, Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence will remain under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Besides, AMA Muhith will continue as Finance Minister, Air Vice Marshal (retd) AK Khandaker as Planning Minister.

The other portfolio of the new cabinet members include Tofail Ahmed as Minister of Industries, Obaidul Quader as Communications Minister, Syed Asraful Islam as (a) Local Government, Rural Development, (b) Co-operatives Minister, Hasan Mahmud as Environment and Forest Minister, Rawson Ershad as Health and Family Welfare Minister, Rashed Khan Menon as Posts and Telecommunications Minister, Nurul Islam Nahid as Education Minister, Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali as Foreign Minister, Shahjahan Khan as (a) Shipping (b) Liberation War Affairs Minister, Abdul Latif Siddiqui as (a) Textiles and Jute, (b) Science and Technology Minister, GM Quader as Business Minister and Ruhul Amin Hawlader as Aviation and Tourism Minister.

Besides, Amir Hossain Amu got (a) Ministry of Land, (b) Disaster Management and Relief, Advocate Quamrul Islam got Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ministry, Mujibul Haque Chunnu got Youth and Sports Ministry, Salma Islam got Women and Children affairs Ministry, Promod Mankin got Social Welfare Ministry, Munnujan Sufian got Labour & Employment Ministry and Mujibul Haque got the responsibility of Railway Ministry.

Besides, former Law, Justice and Parliamentary affairs Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed, former Minister for Industries Dilip Barua and Ziauddin Bablu were appointed as advisors to the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said that the interim government would not take any fundamental policy decisions.

Recently, the cabinet members submitted their resignation letters to the Prime Minister to convey them to the President.

Later, six ministers and two state ministers took oath on Monday to oversee the general elections.
