SATKHIRA: An Awami League leader was chopped to death at Parulia Bazar of Debhata upazila in the district on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Abu Raihan, organizing secretary of Debhata upazila Awami League.

Witness said Abu Raihan was passing time in gossip with his party-men around 8:00pm at Parulia Bazar. At that time, a group of miscreants wearing musk chopped him indiscriminately and he died on the spot.

District police super Molla Jahangir Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
