BNP leader shot dead in Laxmipur

LAXMIPUR: Unidentified miscreants shot dead a Jubo Dal leader in Nandigram village under Sadar Upazila of the district early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Morshed Alam, 30, son of Siraj Mia of the same village. His cousin Sumon was also injured during the attack.

Locals said that armed miscreants attacked Morshed and his two associates when they were sleeping at his fisheries, leaving Morshed dead on the spot and Sumon injured.

Locals also added that Morshed also had an armed cadre group and they were engaged in drug deals, abduction, extortion and others terrorist activities.

Dr Sohel, sibling of Morshed, said, “Hearing screaming, we rushed the spot and found Morshed and Sumon lying on ground.”

“We rushed them to Bashikpur Hospital where doctor declared Morshed dead,” he added.

Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Thana Lokman Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews.
