NEW YORK: Debapriya Bhattacharya, distinguished fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) of Bangladesh, and Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr Yunus held a meeting at Capitol Hill of New York on November 20 (Wednesday).
They met on the day when a hearing on the ongoing political situation of Bangladesh at the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee of United States was taking place.
This meeting between Dr Yunus and Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya is being seen as very important after the statements of former US ambassador William B Milam and Woodrow Wilson International Center Scholar Professor Ali Riaz on ‘Bangladesh on the way to long term interim government’.
Meanwhile, competent sources said Dr Debapriya undertook the visit to play an effective role on the prevailing political situation of the country.
