DHAKA: The government has formed a permanent pay and service commission with a view to fixing the salary and allowance of government employees.
Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Dr Farash Uddin has been made the chairman of the 17-member commission
The permanent pay commission was comprised of a member secretary, three permanent members and 12 temporary members.
A gazette notification was issued in this regard on Sunday afternoon.
The pay and service commission will recommend the new pay scale for approval of the government.
At present there are a total of 13 lakh government employees in the country.
