Admission in primary schools by lottery system

DHAKA: Students will be admitted in government primary schools in 2014 through lottery system like the last three years.

The education ministry on Sunday issued the policy in this regard.

The policy stated that the age of the students willing to get admitted in ‘class-I’ has to be within five to seven years.

List of elected students and a waiting list, through lottery, would be prepared in the presence of the members of admission committee.

The price of application form was fixed as Tk100 and session fee as not more than Tk700.

A 13-member committee of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education will oversight the matters relating to admission in Dhaka Metropolitan.

Besides, directions were given to form a 9-member committee in the district level led by deputy commissioner and a 5-member committee in upazila level led by upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) to supervise the admission.
