DHAKA: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel were been deployed in Dhaka and Sylhet on Monday fearing violence centering the announcement of the schedule of the 10th parliamentary polls.
The authorities concerned deployed the paramilitary force at 7:00pm in the capital in order to maintain peace and security in the city life, said M Mohsin Reza, public relations officer of the BGB.
A total of 20 platoons were deployed in the capital to avert untoward situation centering the polls.
Besides, a total of five platoons Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) were deployed and other low enforcing agencies were directed to be on alert mood in the city on Monday.
The BGB personnel were deployed around 7.00pm after the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin announced the schedule for 10th parliamentary elections while addressing the nation.
The immediate measures were taken to avert any untoward situation after CEC speech.
