2 killed in Sylhet land dispute

SYLHET: Two people were killed in a clash between two groups of villagers at Aatgram village under Jokiganj upazila of the district on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Mokhlesur Rahman, 36, son of Sanjib Ali and Khasru Mia, 34, son of Jamir Ali.

Jokiganj thana officer-in-Charge Yunus Ali told banglanews that Mokhlesur locked into quarrel with his cousin Shahdat Hossain and Amjad Hossain at around 8:00am in a dispute over boundary of house.

At one stage of quarrel, people of Shahdat and Amjad attacked Mokhlesur and Jamir Ali, leaving them critically injured, he added.

They were rushed to a local hospital where duty doctor declared them dead.

Police sent the bodies to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
