Venom seized in Chuadanga; Two arrested

CHUADANGA: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two people alongwith seven bottles of snake venom, worth about Tk 1 crore, from Damurhuda border area in the district Monday night.

Acting on a tip off, members of the elite force went to the house of one Ghani Mia at Aramdanga village, in the guise of customers at night. Later, they recovered the contraband venom from the house and arrested two persons.

The arrested are Mansur, 55, of village Nagdapara in Pabna district, and Nurul Alam, 43, of village Thakurpara in Damurhuda of Chuadanga.

RAB officials said the venom might have been stored in house for smuggling out of the country to neighbouring country India.
